2026 is the 40th Anniversary of Ludlow/La Ferté- Macé Twinning

Commemoration of
40th anniversary by Ludlow French Twinning
An addition to the programme for the visit of Les Fertois in
May, will be the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of our twinning through
two special presentations.
Committee
The first is to recognise the 40th year of
friendship between the two associations and towns. At an appropriate juncture,
we will present an artistic map of Ludlow, framed by Castle Gallery and kindly
donated by Ann and Andy Mulford to La Ferté
Twinning.
Households.
We also intend a second, individual, presentation in which each
host family or household presents its guest family with a unique souvenir that
they themselves have created. It will be an ideal opportunity to involve
everybody in marking the event, from our youngest members to our oldest.
The souvenir will take the form of a heat-resistant,
dishwasher-safe coaster measuring 15 x 15 cm. Each coaster will be individually
decorated by the hosting family to commemorate the occasion.
To enable you to create the coaster absolutely no artistic
skill or experience is needed! We have organised two ceramic painting workshops
for you. All materials, from the plaques to the paints and brushes, will be
provided. The costs have been covered by our fund-raising activities throughout
the year.
We have commissioned Steph Brereton from Colour Your Dreams
to run the workshops and then to take away your creation to fire in her kiln.

The two workshops will take place on Sunday the 1st of March
and Saturday the 7th of March, from 10am until 1pm at Burway Bowling Club on
Bromfield Road in Ludlow (SY8 1DW). Parking is
available. Refreshments will be available? The club is opposite Majestic
Wines.
We would like at
least one family member from each hosting family to make one of these dates. We
very much hope every hosting family will be involved in what will be a fun
activity.
